Vidyanjali is a School where the extra-curriculum is of utmost importance to the overall education offered. For every student the activities taught beyond the curriculum can enrich and enliven the whole School experience. Skills are learned and enjoyed for the sheer delight of either taking part, or mastering the highest levels attainable. The choice is that of the individual student.
However, a wide selection of activities and clubs is offered at Vidyanjali and students are encouraged to spread their wings on arrival and try out new things. A student who is involved in extra-curricular activities acquires an additional raft of life skills and works more effectively with these things to look forward to, and a great work/life balance can be achieved.
Sports are an integral part of the curriculum at Vidyanjali. Each child has to choose one sport among Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Table Tennis, Badminton and kho-kho. the sports club will be from 3.30pm to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday. The student of a particular club may have to stay back at school till 4.15pm on that particular day.
Vidyanjali is providing a new Life Skills Programme “Schools of Equality” for CBSE students of I to X Std. “Schools of Equality” is an activity-based programme that brings together students, artists, and people working for social justice to engage in discussions on equality and human rights. The programme encourages students to explore these issues through various activities including theatre, art, and photography. Most importantly it serves as a forum where students can examine their views on equality and redefine social attitudes that perpetuate inequality in contemporary society. The Schools of Equality programme runs alongside the mainstream school curriculum.
Music is an important aspect of education which enhance learning and keeps in touch with the soul. The preschool classes both Montessori and CBSE students have regular music classes which are designed through an internationally acclaimed & structured music curriculum. The teachers are well-trained to execute the program. Furthermore, the programme is supported with instruments to enhance the learning of musical beats and rhythm.
Creya Learning is a STEM skill programme that fosters life skills among the students through inquiry based learning ang digital technology. The objective of this inclusion is to provide an opportunity for the students to develop skills like communication, leadership, thinking, information fluency, decision making etc. It enables the individuals to deals with the demands and the future challenges with confidence.
PBIS is about recognizing the children when they are right and reinforcing the positive behavior. PBIS provides unified set of rules, which define the expected behavior from students. These rules are based on being Respectful, Responsible and Safety — respecting and valuing teachers, peers and living and non-living things, taking responsibility in performing one’s duties and behavior, considering the safety of oneself and others.
Vidyanjali has started “Rehetorics Gavel Club”, in affiliation with Toastmasters International. Rehetorics Gavel Club is exclusively for the students of Vidyanjali to practice effective communication skills. The club meets once in a week and function according to the guidelines laid down by Tomsmasters International. The club along with public speaking skills enhances the capacity of providing effective feedback, and listening and thinking skills. The club runs under the able guidance of Toastmasters like Satyanarayana Raju and Chaya Nair and Gaveliers like Nandeesha and Balakrishna. In addition the club has its own office bearers.
Bookish knowledge is different from practical experience. Real infield experience makes learning better and stronger. To provide an opportunity for the students to understand the real working situation, and to appreciate the efforts of their parents and value hard earned money, Vidyanjali has designed a unique program for the students of Class IX and X. They are advised to undergo a one-week long ‘Work Internship’ at a workplace of their choice during Dasara Vacation.
Vidyanjali offers a Computer Hardware club to the students of VII to X, Keeping in mind, the demands in the IT field. The club is also in line with the mission of Vidyanjali, i.e. to produce knowledgeable, skilled, and technologically up to date students and it also helps to develop students’ awareness in IT Hardware educational programs. The Club covers various projects and activities related to Computer Hardware, Networking and configuration.
